Andy Sutherland to retire from coaching again after his second stint as Men’s Senior Coach

After a second stint at the helm for Andrew Sutherland, that spanned twice as long as planned due to the cancellation of the 2020 season, Andy will again retire from coaching to focus on the Club from an administrative role.

Andy has been a member of the Committee at La Trobe University Football Club since the end of 2017, including as the inaugural Alumni Representative in 2019, before stepping back into the Senior Men’s coaching role for season 2020 and then what would be 2021.

Over the past two years, Andy has helped rejuvenate the older members of the playing group, while welcoming a new generation of players that continue to enhance the playing groups focus on strong mateship and on-field success. An achievement that will put this group in good shape for the future.

Andy’s level of commitment to his role as coach will no doubt leave big shoes to fill, however Andy and the Club are confident and dedicated to finding the right person to take the reins as Senior Men’s Coach for 2022 and beyond.

Thank you, Andy, for the last two seasons and we look forward to what you will continue to bring to the Club and the Committee!
