Stalwarts Laz and Squeak Appointed Reserve Men's Joint Coaches for 2019
Edward ‘Squeak’ Buffon and Jake ‘Laz’ Lasslett join the coaching ranks at La Trobe University Football Club for 2019 as joint Reserve Men’s Coaches. After a year away from footy and travelling Europe in 2018 Edward is keen for his sixth season at the Club and taking on coaching with his good mate. Jake is stepping up from being Co-Captain of the Reserve’s in 2018 to coach in his seventh season at the Club.
Both Edward and Jake are keen to pull on the boots as playing coaches as they both have an opportunity to notch up their 100 game milestone for the Club this season. 2018 Reserve’s Co-Captain Darcy Stephenson says “Jake’s nurturing and compassionate nature with Ed’s drive for success will be the perfect combination to hopefully make them the next great duo like, Kobe and Shaq; Byron Pickett and torps; or Jay-Z and Kanye”.
1999 Premiership Coach Andy Sutherland says “its great to see two young players step into a coaching role after many years of playing with the club. It demonstrates how our club is able to develop people into leaders and the opportunities that are available from being involved in this great club”.
The Club are exciting to see the impact both Edward and Jake will have on our young list and we wish them all the best for season 2019.
