
Trober 2022 Mid-Season Wrap

On Friday night we celebrated our season with the 2018 Presentation Night, with a decent turnout including players, past players, sponsors and support staff there were many well deserving winners to be celebrated.
Emily Turnbull was honoured with the clubs most prestigious award, the Bob Segrave Trophy, which recognises her outstanding service to the club over a three year period. Josh Rogerson and Teresa D’Angelo received the John Dumeresq Best Clubperson award for their contributions to the club in 2018. Elkie Brooks and Daniel Roberston received the Polaris 3083 Female and Male Young Leader Awards. David McMaster was recognised for his milestone of reaching 150 games in 2019, along with Mitch Oliver, Kate Bond and Teresa D’Angelo reaching 50 games.
Senior captain Tom Mooney comfortable claimed the Tony Sheehan Best and Fairest with 90 votes, with Matt Ogle finished runner up for the second consecutive season on 44 votes. Senior captain Kate Bond claimed her back-to-back Jess Smith Best and Fairest with 63 votes, while Steph Castagnini had a breakout season finishing runner up with 37 votes. Spearhead Samantha Greene claimed her tenth consecutive Leading Goal Kicker award with 39 goals. Mitch Oliver in a tight contest claimed the David Morgan Leading Goal Kicker with only 12 goals for the season. Lachlan Miller and Teresa D’Angelo were awarded their respective Coaches Awards for their consistency throughout the season which saw them both finishing top five in the Best and Fairest count. Emily Turnbull and Grant Dowler were voted Best Team Player by their respective teammates, demonstrating how influential they were in 2018.
Claire Henderson topped of her stellar debutante season taking out the Reserve Best and Fairest, with 30 votes. Narrowly beating out Rachel Hickey by just four votes who claimed runner up. Club veteran and Reserve Co-Captain Darcy Stephenson claimed his maiden Best and Fairest with 30 votes. In another tight count narrowly beating Nick Mcintyre and Blake Goudie who both finished runner up with 27 votes. Caitlin Ross claimed the Leading Goal Kicker, despite playing the majority of the season in the seniors. Mitchell Welsh and Carly Mitchell were awarded the Coaches Awards for their respective teams and Sarah Andrews and Ross Campbell were voted Best Team Players by their respective teammates.

It is with great sadness that we inform the Trober community of the passing of Bob Segrave on Monday morning 17th January, 2022.
It is with tremendous sadness that we inform our Trober community of the passing of Russell Badham on Monday morning 3rd January, 2022 after a short illness. Russell Badham arrived at LTUFC in 1969.
